Farmers Market!

The Missoula Farmer’s Market had its opening weekend this Saturday. It was freezing cold and raining, but I was happy to see Josh of Clark Fork Organics and my favorite waffle stall (who can resist nutella, fresh strawberries and whipped cream on a buckwheat waffle?). There was a surprising variety of food available and lots of starts. I even saw a women selling asparagus, a first at the market. Mr. B and I bought arugula, spicy salad mix, and French Breakfast radishes. One of my favorite spring meals is sliced radish and butter on a good baguette, sprinkled with sea salt and a radish green salad.

In celebration, here is an article from Apartment Therapy on the top 10 Farmers Markets in the country, including one in my hometown of Portland, OR. I always make a point to visit that one, especially in the fall when they have Italian prunes, fresh roasted peppers, oysters, cheese, and other tasties.
